DAN + LIZZIE

Lizzie and Dan married on a beautiful October day last year. Dan and his groomsmen dressed at Holy House B+B in Hereford whilst Lizzie and her bridesmaids got ready at Lemore Manor, Herefordshire before making their way to Birley Church to tie the knot. Lizzie and the girls arrived in fabulous 2cv cars by 2cv wedding Cars which also took the bride and groom on to the reception following the ceremony and we managed to stop off at Lizzie's parents' home for some portraits in the orchards.

Lizzie's bouquet by The Great British Florist, Hereford, incorporated autumn leaves and was one of the most beautiful I have ever seen and there were incredible origami favours as well as mini home made jam pots. The reception at Lemore was relaxed and elegant, with their wedding breakfast and speeches taking place in the Orangery and followed by an evening of fun and dancing to music provided by the fantastic band who had travelled all the way from the Isle of Wight....

Adventures in 35mm film...

When I am not shooting weddings I am usually looking after my busy home and with three kids a husband and an energetic dog it's pretty full on! So in those rare moments when I find some time to myself I like to take out one or more of my film cameras and have a play. I grew up with using film so it is something I love very much, I love the not knowing what I've captured until the scans come back from the lab, the colours and the natural graininess and softness that comes with all things analogue. So I thought I'd share some of these adventures in 35mm with you here on occasion. Here are some ferns I shot on holiday in Boscastle, Cornwall last year...

Curradine Barns Wedding venue, Shrawley, Worcestershire

So lovely to see Victoria and Marks big day from last Summer featured on the Curradine Barns blog here

I have shot many weddings at this beautiful and versatile venue which is only a few miles from my home. I know it very well, I know lots of good places for shots, I am used to the light and the spaces there and I am able to be flexible depending on the weather, as I know where to go if it's too sunny or if it's a little rainy, as well as knowing a few tucked away spots to take my couples for some more interesting backdrops.

Curradine Barns Worcestershire Wedding Venue-As Seen On

CHRIS + LUCY

When I was asked to photograph a Norfolk wedding I jumped at the chance as I had never been to Norfolk before in my life and it has always been somewhere I wanted to see. I always love it when family and friends pull together with their skills and talents to make a wedding day even more personal and special and Chris and Lucy's wedding was a really beautifully homespun family affair. Lucy got ready at her family home in Barton Turf, with her bridesmaid and sister Charlotte Calladine doing the most incredible job on her hair, while another bridesmaid and sister, Bex, did her gorgeous makeup, as well as making the Mother of the Bride's Jacket.

Lucy wore a stunning, ivory Jenny Packham gown for their rural church wedding which was followed by boat rides and champagne at the Fairhaven Gardens, South Walsham. Their reception marquee was decorated stunningly by family friend and bridesmaid, Felicity, who brought the 'outside' inside, creating a magical woodland inside the marquee.

The feel of the day was incredibly happy and relaxed and I almost felt like part of the family by the end of the day. Despite a little rain here and there, we managed gorgeous couple shots under the trees around the gardens and after their meal and speeches the day finished off with dancing to the awesome Epics Band. Take a look at some of the highlights of their awesome day....

NIKITA + SUNNY

Nikita and Sunny had an epic wedding in India last year but asked me to capture their very intimate ceremony at Malvern Council House in June this year. Nikita was one of the shyest brides I have come across but she completely smashed it in front of the camera, what a stunning couple they make...

THE FULLENS

One of my favourite places for family sessions is the Old Hills just outside of Worcester and it was here that I took the Fullen family for their shoot earlier this year. It's quite hard to find a place suitable for a shoot which has several different backdrops but the Old Hills has a stunning view of the Malvern Hills, we had awesome light that day too...

ELLA + CALLUM - TWINS NEWBORN SHOOT

It isn't very often I get the chance to photograph newborn twins and I'm so excited when I do! I photographed the gorgeous Ella and Callum last year and HOW CUTE are they!  Here are a few highlights from the shoot which took place at their home when they were just a few weeks old following a premature birth...

GARY + PAM - CURRADINE BARNS, WORCESTERSHIRE

I think I have fallen a little bit in love with all of my couples over the years, but when a couple with a long history and grown up families get married it completely turns me to mush. Gary and Pam had a colourful wedding at Curradine Barns last Summer surrounded by their loving families and wonderful friends. Make-up by Lydia Repton. Amazing outdoor entertainment was provided by incredible magician Darren Campbell...

STUART + DANIEL - THE WOOD NORTON, WORCESTERSHIRE

Stuart married Daniel at the stunning Wood Norton Hotel, near Evesham, Worcestershire. It was such an incredible day, every last detail had been meticulously planned, right down to the matching tweed suits worn by their ring bearers - their two little dogs, Bambi and Oscar. With Grandmothers as flower girls and an incredible woodland themed dinner setting, this was certainly one of my favourite weddings to date...

LIZZIE + MAX - HANLEY SWAN, WORCESTERSHIRE

There is nothing to take away the winter blues quite like a flashback to a beautiful Summer country wedding featuring chickens, dogs, a fire pit, marshmallow roasting, hay bales, a horse and cart, a cornfield, lavender and a confetti canon first dance!

The lovely Lizzie and Max got married in July in traditional style at St Mary's Church, Hanley Castle and followed it up with a fantastic festival themed, dog friendly reception held in tipis on Lizzie's parent's land...

KATE + PETER - CURRADINE BARNS, WORCESTERSHIRE, UK

Kate and Peter chose the beautiful Curradine Barns, Worcestershire, for their relaxed, handmade, country-style July wedding this year. It was a gloriously hot day full of sunshine, blue skies and big smiles.  These two lovely people just wanted to have fun on their wedding day and that's just what they did...
